Victim reported: Girlfriend has been drinking after work lately, comes home drunk and they argue often. When asked if the victim has been being abused in any type of way, the victim reported “I guess” . We asked the victim to elaborate and although the victim was hesitant to speak he reported that she had “choked him”, but he was able to get away thats when the suspect ran out of the home. Again, we asked for clarification and with a show of hands we asked the victim to show us the motion. Victim was able to motion and reported that he was a little unsure but he believes it was with both hands. Victim was asked if he had any relatives or friends he could stay with, but he reported that he would be staying in his home. Officer asked if he felt safe in the home and the victim reported that he did feel safe.
Victim was provided with his “Victim of Rights” information and was informed about the 209A. The victim was unfamiliar with this form and asked what it was. Victim was informed about the 209A and how it worked. Victim was asked if this was something the victim was interested in doing. Victim was in agreement to fill out the form. Due to the child being home when these arguments occur a 51A would be filed. Information regarding 51A was briefly explained to the victim. Victim did explain that the daughter was not home and was at her grandmother’s house when the incident occurred that day. Victim reported that this was the first time to report the incident
