Physical assessment of children is similar to that of an adult. Children can be assessed using the Pediatric Assessment Triangle. The assessment is based on the tool of observation in order to make the child feel comfortable. Using the acronym, TICLS which means, tone, interactivity, consolability, look (gaze), speech (cry) (Walker & Hanna, 2020). Observation of breathing and circulation is assessed in the child.
