Assignment Instructions

You are managing an IT project that has globally interconnected stakeholders in San Jose, CA, United States; Colorado Springs, CO, United States; St. Louis, MO, United States; Nashua, NH, United States; Rhos-on-Sea, Wales, United Kingdom; and Ljubljana, Slovenia. The goal of this project is to develop a new mobile application. Your team is made of up the following stakeholders:

  • Developers are in San Jose. They will design and develop the mobile application.
  • Users are located in Rhos-on-Sea. They will be responsible for mobile application acceptance.
  • Testers are located in St Louis. They will complete the end-to-end test before acceptance.
  • Project sponsors are in Nashua and Ljubljana. Sponsors help with funding and prioritization of requirements.
  • Project manager is located in Colorado Springs.
  • Product support staff is located in Nashua. Support staff deploy and support the mobile application.

The project team is very experienced, and the mobile application requirements are not very clear. The project sponsors are supportive and will work with you on the delivery of the mobile application. The project sponsors have asked for two things from you, the project manager:

  1. Recommend a project delivery approach (agile or traditional project management). Provide support as to why this approach works best with this project scenario. This feedback should assess the project scenario on product/deliverable, project team, and culture (see Section 3.4.3 of the PMBOK). This section should be approximately 500–750 words. Organize your paper by product/deliverable, project team, and culture.
  2. Create a communication matrix to accommodate the needs of the project team. Identify four information needs, who should receive the information, when should the information be received, and how (email, MS Teams, text, meetings, etc.). Consider the time differences and cultural differences between the different team members. For instance, a daily meeting should be scheduled at a reasonable time for all team members.

Assignment Requirements

Create one MS Word document with your response to the recommendation of the project delivery approach and the communication matrix.
