If we were to leave the personal religious experience to its own devices, it would be hard pressed to give a phenomenological approach based on a religious subjective lens solely. One aspect of phenomenology is to have an overarching and encompassing approach when developing thoughts and ideas towards the seeking of knowledge. When allowing a personal aspect to control the process in which emotion can become entwined, this becomes an issue into the knowledge seeking aspect. “Scientific knowledge is meant to be intersubjective knowledge and in order to achieve true intersubjectivity other researchers have to be able to utilize the methods employed by original researchers in the same way because the knowledge obtained is correlated with the methods used” (Giorgi, 2010). Understanding this aspect is vital as researchers must maintain the overarching and equal knowledge balance between subjective viewpoints, in which religion at times has been more focused on its own dogma versus understanding scientific inquiry in general. If individuals can differentiate from the overall subjective view and understand the complexities to other types of thinking, one could break away from the subjective view and then be able to view in the required aspect to find truth.
